Matt and I had a good Christmas this year in our new house. His parents came over Christmas Eve and we cooked steak and opened presents. Then on Christmas Day we went to Jeff and Laurie’s house. Overall it was nice and relaxing and the best part was we didnt have to drive – except to Jeff and Laurie’s which is only an hour away. I also ended up not having to work which was GREAT! We got some great gifts from Matt’s parents but my favorite gift was what we bought with the money they gave us…BOOKSHELVES! I have been wanting bookshelves since we moved in because our books have been on the floor in the office. They are AWESOME and I love them. I feel OLD since I am excited about bookshelves, but oh well… We also got each other a new breakfast table which I love as well.
For New Years we were pretty boring this year. We went to dinner with another couple and ended up back at our house. We were going to go to a bar but they charged a $10 cover…call me cheap but I’m not paying a cover to go into a local bar I can visit any other day of the week for free. I have no idea why places do this, I guess because they can, but it drives me nuts!
I hope you all have a great 2009. I have no idea what this year has in store for us, but I hope all of our friends and family will remain happy and healthy throughout.
